  No of course it could have been the mayor or the city council. Nope it was Bush.

  No he couldn't have used the buses shown in the picture. Nope it was Bush.

  It was him who suggested people who had not left the city, to go to the death crip called the Superdome. Nope it was Bush.

  He can't be in incompetant Mayor. No. It was Bush.

  George Bush President of the United States and Boogeyman of the left.

  I lean to the left on quite a few issues but not far enough to blame George W if I stub my toes as a lot of people I know on the far left do.

  new orleans is becoming an interesting sociological study.

  when the artificial comforts of the human world are gone, all you are left with is your animal instincts.. people are reacting based on their life experience combined with their genetic make up.. some docile, some in aggressive attack mode

  Ever read "Lord of the Flys?

  I think that is exactly what is going on with some of our lovely citizens down there.

  Isn't there a famous quote that say something like society is only two meals away from total chaos? Rimmer said something to that effect on Red Dwarf (if you watch RD) but that's not exactly the one I'm thinking of.

  It is amazing how quickly social order can breaks down. Without laws and police to enforce them some people start doing whatever they feel like doing. I remember during the riots here in LA a radio talk show personality who in the past was for gun control when out and got a gun to protect his family because the chaos was getting close to where he lived. It is sad but there are some people who will only behave if someone is holding a club or a gun to their head.

  I found the story interesting also. I like watching the shows on court TV and City Confidential where they try to figure out exactly what happened in cases the were pretty much forgotten. The article referred to the witness going there to play records. Was this one of those prerecorded messages by Rutherford? Why would a JW be carring in a gun in service? This case would make a great TV show. It seems to me J-dubs were at their hardest and meanest when the judge was in charge. He was hateful and mean, a blowhard who hated everyone. It probably trickled down to the dubs on the street. Modern J-dubs seem to been at least in some ways making an effort to fit in and be a little more normal.

  Is there any group that you know of that gives the majority of their proceeds to the cause or are they all only giving a fraction of what is really donated?? Try this site: charitywatch.org It only recommends organizations were there opperating expences total no more than 35% of what they take in. Both the Red Cross and the Salvation Army are among the approved groups.

  Sword: The GB is taking care of all the arrangements to help JW victims, hands-on. The effort was organized from Brooklyn and it also involves all congregations in the near vicinity. JWs that have fled the area are being taken into Witness homes in Texas, Alabama and Florida.
  
  Math 5: 45-46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
  And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than other? Do not even the tax collectors do so?

  i am so shocked by the devastation in the south from katrina.

  watch the news channel for a few minutes and you can imagine the grief, heartbrake and misery that thousands of people are experiencing as we read this board.

  please, if you have any money at all to donate, do it now while it is fresh in your mind.

  Good information Randy. I checked it out and found out the company I work for was on the list. I called them and they told me how to get the form I need to get them to match my donation. I wouldn't have thought of this if you hadn't made this post.

  It is obvious Euardo that the immediate situation won't be helped much by donations but this situation will be on going and it is going to take a lot of donations of money and supplies over a long period of time to get things going again. I specifically mentioned two organization that I know really do put their money where their mouth is, not just lip service as the Watchtower so frequently likes to label the good works of others.
  
  And I'm sure you are right about the Watchtower helping out. They'll be right there helping the Catholics rebuild their churches. Come on! Anyone who was ever a witness knows the Watchower won't be involved in helping rebuild anything but kingdom halls. I'm sure individual witness will help their neighbors because there are a lot of good JWs but the Watchtower will do little or nothing because that's just the way they are. They don't feed the poor. They don't build hospitals. Other religions do that Watchtower does not. The Watchtower doesn't even do a good job of taking care of their own (this website should make that clear) much less anyone else. And why would they? Jehovah's going to kill everyone that doesn't suck up to them as the self appointed prophet of God.
  
  Not donating anything because the WT says every organization outside of them is crooked is just a cop out. If someone doesn't have a lot of money even making a small donation of five or ten dollars whenever they can will do a lot of good.

  Well lets see if I go to calvarychapel.com or the Episcopal Church site er-d.org I get information on how to donate to help victims of Katrina. I could probably find similar information on any church site. If I go to watchtower.org what do I get. An article entitled: "What is Happening to the Weather" I guess Christ's words to the Watchower woud be. When I was hungry you gave me a magazine to read.

  is there anything you'd like to change about your appearance?.

  i'd like to be 2 inches taller with the same weight proportion.. i'd like to have nicer skin.. i'd like to be a little more muscular.. other than that, i'm not too unhappy with my looks.. all things the new system would have brought me..... .
